Chirimba Market resides in Blantyre, a few kilometres from Blantyre CBD. The market serves surrounding communities of Kamedza, Mbayani and Chapima.
It’s not known exactly when Chirimba market was established but locals say that it has been around for over 60 years.
You can travel to Chirimba Market by minibus, taxi, or your own car.
To get to the market by minibus from Blantyre CBD, you need to catch a bus from Kandodo bus stop in Blantyre heading to Chileka via M1 road and get off at Chirimba Bus stop.
It takes approximately 15 minutes to get there and then it’s only a 2 minute walk to the market. You should expect to pay K600 for a return minibus fare.
If you decide to use a taxi, you should expect to pay K3,000 for return taxi fare, which takes about 10 minutes to get there.
It is not advisable to use your own car as there is no secure parking at the market.

Salons: You can also find hair styling services at Chirimba market as it has many hair dressing salons.
Tyre Fitting; You can also get your vehicle tyres fitted and air refilling services at Chirimba market.

Two Princes Phone Accessories: They sell phone accessories such as chargers, USB cables, batteries and screen protectors. They open Monday to Saturday from 7am to 6pm
Price: The prices in Chirimba market are the same as Mbayani Market, very cheap and reasonable. For this I rate it 5/5 on price.
Cleanliness: The market better kept and cleaned compared to nearby Mbayani Market. I give it a rating of 3/5 for cleanliness.
